They make a claim about sea level rise, that I guess will now join the "numerous studies", but it in fact is just referencing the same single study.Nicolas Nierenberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15853996586598424891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4630467186961819522.post-1571778895868753712009-12-03T09:02:24.920-08:002009-12-03T09:02:24.920-08:00I saw it too. It's totally crazy - a loosely connected series of vague thoughts and guesses resulting in CALAMITY!!!

You have to give them credit though, the way they slip in "a doubling in CO2 would increase the regions temperature by 3-4 degrees" without giving any idea of how long this would take (3-4 degrees at the current rate of global warming over the past 50 years is almost 300 years) or a precise calculation of how much ice this would melt into the ocean (the average temperature of antarctic being minus 40 or so, a 4 degree warming would bring it up to minus 36... how much ice melts at that temperature ??).

As the people with enough science to broadly follow the discussions down to the details discover just how tenuous the whole AGW theory is (at least in regards to CO2 link), the media and politicians are going into hyperdrive on the alarmism.
